I am half Japanese and half Thai, and have been living in Hong Kong, California, New York, etc., but I have been living in Japan for a long time since college. I was originally mainly English, but recently I have become a little better at Japanese. I currently work for a company that deals with finance and fintech. My girlfriend is from Taiwan and works there, and we are currently in a long-distance relationship.

How I discovered the brand

I was having a lively conversation with a junior from high school about proposing to my wife. We were talking about how big rings are expensive, and he recommended lab-grown diamonds to me. I was researching various American and Japanese brands, and an acquaintance introduced me to BRIGHT & BREEZY.

This time you chose a large 3.26ct diamond. What made you decide to choose a larger diamond?

About a year after we officially started dating, we started talking about what we would do next. When I told her that I wanted to continue our relationship and propose to her in the future, she jokingly said, "I'd like a diamond over 2 carats"...lol The reason is that her fingers are a little bigger than most people's, and she knew that even a 1 carat diamond wouldn't suit her. From that point on, she shared a lot of photos of her jewelry with her friends...lol However, being a rational thinker, she didn't think it had to be a very expensive high-end brand of jewelry, and she was also considering lab-grown diamonds as an option.
I had a set budget, so I was glad to find the 3.26ct within it.

Tell us about the process you chose.

Her fingers are long and larger than most people's, so she initially thought that a square-shaped emerald cut would look good on her. However, after trying on emerald diamond rings at various stores, she realized that she preferred a princess cut because the stone sparkles more. When she consulted the staff at BRIGHT&BREEZY about her concerns, they told her about the "radiant cut," which combines the sparkle of a princess cut with a square shape.
When I was shown the video of Diamond in advance, I thought, "Wow! This is amazing."
She also looked for radiant cuts in various stores to see them in person, but they were out of stock. She learned that it is a rare shape.
I only wanted to give her something that she would want, so to be honest I was hesitant to buy it before I had a chance to try it on and hear her thoughts.
In the end, I decided on a radiant cut because I was convinced that a square shape would suit me perfectly, and my friend encouraged me to make the final decision on my own.

How was the proposal?

I was planning to propose to her in Japan, but since the ring arrived early, I decided to propose to her when we returned to my parents' house in Thailand. While staying at several hotels, I found a place with a nice beach and proposed to her there.
Here's how it went... We're usually long distance, so while we're together, we take things like home tour videos as a souvenir of wherever we go. It gives it a real sense of life and it's fun (laughs).
I suggested doing a home tour video in the hotel and asked her to film it. When she stood by the window during filming, I thought it was my chance, so I called out to her from behind and when she turned around, I opened the ring I had prepared.
She was so surprised that she screamed. I guess she didn't expect him to propose so soon, and she was also very surprised and happy about the ring!

What do you think about lab-grown diamonds?

I'm very happy that she is satisfied with it. I was surprised at how beautiful it was when I received it. A friend of mine bought a 2ct ring from a famous high-end brand, and when he saw her ring, he said, "I want one that big!"
